As a Tillandsia (but also part of the Bromeliad family) it grows in a different pattern producing showy pink bracts that resemble ink quills. It does take a few years for the plant to reach maturity to bloom. These are pretty mature at the moment and some have bloomed. The pink quill bract can last up to 4 months. It will then turn brown and dry. Please trim the bract and continue watering the soil once a week as a few months later you will discover a new pink quill bract growing.
