With its striking white-topped, deep crimson pitchers and lacy veining, this carnivorous plant is both functional and ornamental. Not only is it a natural conversation starter, but it’s also a fly-catching machine, making it the perfect eco-friendly pest controller!
The Scarlet Belle thrives on a diet of small insects, which it lures with nectar before trapping them in its tubular pitchers. As captivating as it is carnivorous, this plant is ideal for collectors, nature lovers, or anyone craving a bit of wild charm indoors or out.

🌞 Scarlet Belle Care Guide:
☀️ Light:
Thrives in bright, direct sunlight. Outdoors in full sun is best (at least 6 hours per day). Indoors, place near a south or west-facing window or under a strong grow light.
💧 Water:
Keep the soil consistently moist using distilled, rain, or reverse osmosis water only. Tap water can harm this plant due to mineral build-up. Sit the pot in a shallow tray of water to mimic its natural bog environment.
🌡️ Temperature:
Prefers warm days (70–85°F) and cooler nights. Hardy outdoors in USDA Zones 6–9, with dormancy during colder months. If indoors year-round, consider giving it a winter rest period with cooler temps and less light.
🪵 Soil:
Use a nutrient-free mix like sphagnum peat moss and perlite or long-fiber sphagnum moss. Never use potting soil or compost – Scarlet Belle gets its nutrients from bugs, not dirt! We recommend sphagnum moss for best results.
🍽 Feeding:
No need to fertilize! It naturally catches gnats, flies, and other small insects. If kept indoors without access to bugs, you can occasionally feed it freeze-dried bloodworms or crickets using tweezers.
🌬 Humidity:
Loves high humidity (50%+), but it can adapt to lower levels if its roots are kept moist. A pebble tray or humidifier can help indoors.
🌙 Dormancy Tip:
In fall and winter, this plant needs a 3–4 month dormancy period. Reduce watering (keep damp but not soggy), provide less light, and allow cooler temperatures (around 40–50°F). This rest period is essential for long-term health and strong spring growth.
