Hoya Macrophylla Variegated – Bold Foliage, Beautiful Trails, and Blooms That Wow

Add instant charm and elegance to your indoor jungle with the Hoya Macrophylla Variegated. Known for its thick, waxy leaves with dramatic creamy variegation and bold veining, this semi-succulent plant is a low-maintenance beauty that makes a big impact. Whether nestled in a 4" nursery planter or upgraded to our exclusive 5" Valentina Terracotta Planter, it’s a showstopper on shelves, hanging baskets, or plant stands.

Available in:

  • Nursery Pot - Standard plastic 4-inch or 6-inch planter pot that can be placed inside a larger pot or left as is until it outgrows it.

  • Valentina Terracotta Pot 5" - a beautiful molded terracotta pot that is porous and fire glazed to allow plant roots to breathe, color works well with any decor and will develop a beautiful patina color over time. Includes matching dish underneath to catch water drainage and protect surfaces.

Care Guide:

  • Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Avoid direct sun to prevent scorching the variegated leaves.

  • Watering: Water when the top 2 inches of soil are dry. As a semi-succulent, it prefers to dry out between waterings.

  • Humidity: Enjoys average to high humidity but adapts well to most indoor conditions.

  • Temperature & Zones: Best in zones 10–12. Keep indoors in cooler climates; prefers temps between 60–85°F.

  • Pet Friendly: While not highly toxic, it’s best to keep out of reach of pets to avoid any nibbling.

Blooms & Benefits:
When mature and happy, this Hoya may reward you with clusters of unforgettable, star-shaped blooms in shades of pink and white with a sweet, heady fragrance. These nectar-rich flowers are not only stunning—they’re a treat for pollinators too!

Why You’ll Love It:

  • Air-purifying powerhouse

  • Rare variegated foliage makes each leaf unique

  • Easy-going and drought-tolerant—perfect for beginners and busy plant parents

  • Gorgeous trailing vines for shelves, hanging pots, or trailing displays
