Details
Pimenta Biquinho or Little Beak Pepper plant, also known as Chupetinho, Pimenta de Bico or Chupetinha is native to Minas Gerais, Brazil. The Biquinho Pepper plant has captivating foliage of dark-green glossy leaves with red and yellow fiery “Hershey’s kisses” shaped Biquinho peppers. This plant produces a mass of chilli fruits also known as ‘sweety drops’ which hang from the plant like small lanterns. Coming from the Habaneros family, Little beak peppers have mild heat level, making them perfect picks for anyone who loves the taste of chilli peppers but does not prefer the ‘heat’ that comes with it. The fast-growing, sweet and fruity flavor of the Biquinho peppers makes it a delicious addition to salads, pizzas, antipasto and cheese platters, or can be enjoyed on its own or pickled in vinegar.
Belonging to the tropics, the Chupetinho or Pimenta de Bico pepper plant cannot withstand hard winters hence planting them in pots would be convenient to move them indoors when the weather gets cold. It is a fast-growing plant that needs plenty of sun. Water once the top layer of the soil is dry. For optimum growth, humidity in the range of 50% to 70% should be maintained.
*Please note that when you purchase the larger sizes, you may have significant leaf loss or damage, but since it is a fast grower, it will return quickly to its size*
Available in the following packaging based on your preference:
- Nursery Pot - Standard plastic 4, 6 or 8-inch planter pot that can be placed inside a larger decorative pot or left as is until it outgrows it.

I didn’t expect the plant to be so well developed. It is in good shape. It has peppers already red on it. It looks happy and healthy. I’m going to transplant it soon.
I was actually shocked at how beautiful my plant was on arrival. It did take a bit for it to arrive, and it was a little on the expensive side, but this kind vendor threw in an extra succulent heart for free. I will say it is difficult to find this particular plant so I bit the bullet and ordered it. Very excited to see how my sweety pepper progresses. I’ll order from this company again.
Beautiful plants, fruited and ready to pick. In spite of the careless handling along the way, the plants were packaged so well, they arrived with almost no damage and ready to go into the garden! My first jar of pickled Biquihos will be made tomorrow!
Was skeptical about why this plant seemed more expensive than other alternatives, but went ahead and bought it anyways. To my surprise, I will say it’s definitely worth the investment! I received a healthy, mature plant with peppers already growing. And very careful attention to packaging. Would buy again!
