Details

Nepenthese Alata AKA pitcher plant, each new pitcher or "monkey cup" can collect numerous insects that it attracts with its unique nectar and converts those digested insects into fertilizer. Excellent inside your home, very easy and forgiving. It is a vining plant and will do well by the window sill.

A tropical pitcher plant native to parts of South East Asia, India, Madagascar, and Australia. Most are vines, but some remain compact in growth habit. The name "Monkey Cups" comes from monkeys occasionally drinking the fluid in the pitchers. The pitcher is actually a swelling of the mid-vein in the leaf. Ensure that the soil is always kept moist. The pitchers should always have some water in them, so it is good to get some water in them while you're showering your plant, just make sure they are no more than 50% full of water. Failure to produce pitchers indicates that the plant isn't receiving adequate light, humidity, or water issues.

So sad.

Received my plant and was thrilled with it. Bought distilled water for it and even made sure pitchers were half full (no easy task). She was the pride of my kitchen window. Checked on her before going to bed . Got up in the morning and was horrified. All her beautiful pitchers were brown and dying. I never received info care booklet and don't know if I should cut them off. Don't know the best way to go about this. Can anyone give me advise? Fingers crossed.

5 new members to my plant family

I am fairly new to Verdant Lyfe .thought it a bit odd to receive plants through the mail.
So far the five plants I have received have been wrap with tender loving care. I know that the boxes are marked fragile and this side up. I also know that the post office/ ups or mail service could care less they toss and drop and they deliver some times with the box wrong side up.
However with the care that goes into packaging our precious cargo, my my new members have made it to me save and sound!
I hope to share their growth and new additions the plants may surprise me with.
Thanks
Karen P

Star plant & Alevera plant

I received my two star plants and an aloe vera and so far they’re doing beautifully. I think I’ll have to repot them once they acclimate just not sure how long acclamation takes.

Amazing plant

I received the plant just 2 days after ordering and it was beyond healthy with 5 pitchers on it. I have ordered again from them since.
