The plant that pulls at your heartstrings. The String of Frogs plant is a common name for Ficus Pumila 'Quercifolia'. This plant is a cultivar of the creeping fig, known for its small, oak-shaped leaves that resemble tiny frog legs, which is how it gets its name. It's a charming and unique plant often used in terrariums or as a trailing houseplant. Simply Stunning for every collection of trailing beauties.

It might not be obvious, but the “String of Frogs” plant is actually a manageable cascading plant. It looks like a string of turtles, bringing love and joy to your home. In addition to being one of the most stunning plants you will ever encounter, these plants are pet-friendly for both dogs & cats too!

Each leaf is turtle-shaped with stunning patterns unlike any other-- spreading love throughout your garden or home.

The Ficus pumila 'Quercifolia' (String of Frogs) prefers consistently moist soil, so it should be watered regularly. Here's a general watering schedule:

Water when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. This typically means watering every 5-7 days in the warmer months and every 10-14 days during cooler months, depending on the humidity and temperature of your home.

Water thoroughly until excess water drains out of the bottom of the pot. Be sure to empty the saucer to prevent the roots from sitting in water, which can lead to root rot.

This plant enjoys higher humidity, so you might want to mist it occasionally or use a humidity tray to keep it happy.

Available in the following packaging based on your preference:

  • Nursery Pot - Standard plastic 2" planter pot that can be placed inside a larger pot or left as is until it outgrows it. Every 2-inch pot will come with at least one tuber-rooted growth.
  • Diana Pot - 4"round porcelain pot with matching round bamboo drainage
  • Amelia Hanging Porcelain Planter - Roughly a 4" round pot with a drainage hole. Comes with an S hook for easy hanging. It includes 3 of our 2" String of Turtles. The customer will need to re-pot the plants inside the Amelia. Extra soil will be provided.
